Eike Fuhrken Batista
Well-known Brazilian entrepreneur Eike Fuhrken Batista was born on November 3, 1957 in Governador Valadares, Brazil. As a businessman, Eike Batista managed to establish several companies across a variety of business sectors. However, much of his business endeavors are focused on the field of mining. After all, Eike Batista’s father is Eliezer Batista da Silva, the famous longtime head of the diversified mining multinational corporation known as Vale.
Prior to establishing several companies, Eike Batista was in Germany in between the periods of 1969 to 1980. After earning all the necessary academic requirements, Eike Batista used his background in engineering to initiate various companies in different fields. As a result, he became the richest person in Brazil. Earning an estimated fortune of $27 billion, Eike Batista ranks as the fourth wealthiest person in America, as well as the 8th richest person in the world. His name appears among those listed in the prestigious Forbes magazine.
Some of the major companies Eike Batista has founded include MMX, OGX, LLX, MPX and Porto de Peruibe. OGX is currently the biggest Brazilian oil and gas private company in Brazil. In addition to this, OGX is also one of the largest Brazilian companies in the same sector.
