Arum was raised by a Jewish family and was born on December 8, 1931 in New York City. He went to New York University where he was the president of the student body, then to Harvard Law School where he graduated cum laude.

With a high quality education and entrepreneurial skills to back him up, he became a successful boxing promoter and even rivaled Don King at one point. Some of the most memorable fights he organized were Marvin Hagler vs. Thomas Hearns and Danny Lopez vs. Juan Malvares.

Working as a lawyer in the United States Department of Justice, Arum became very interested in boxing in 1965. It was when he left the Justice Department and joined Louis Nizer’s law firm that he met football star Jim Brown, the one who introduced him to Muhammad Ali.

In 1966, Bob Arum promoted several of Ali’s fights through a company he found called Main Bout Inc. Since then, he has promoted numerous champions, including George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Iran Barkley, James Toney, Larry Holmes, Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Oscar de la Hoya among others.

With the help of several educational pioneers, Courtney Sale Ross has pioneered some new educational models that enhanced some of the practices in K-12 education. She is the known founder of the Ross Institute, the Ross Global Academy and the Ross School.

The Ross Institute for Advanced Study Innovation in Education has been around since 1996. This institution was founded to promote the understanding of globalization for students in pre-collegiate public education.

The Ross Global Academy, on the other hand, was founded in 2006. This innovative public charter school was established through a partnership with the New York City’s Board of Education and the New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education.

Finally, Courtney Sale Ross founded the Ross School in 1991 with her late husband, Steve Ross. At present, the school has more than 560 students from pre-nursery to 12th grade. It maintains two campuses in Bridgehampton and East Hampton, New York.

Apart from her duties for these schools, Courtney Sale Ross has also contributed to several major educational institutions across the country. She has donated to the University of Southern California, Skidmore College, Harvard University and New York University.

Mukesh Ambani was born on the 19th of April 1957 to Reliance Industries founder Dhirubhai Ambani and wife Kokilaben. In his early childhood years, he and his family lived in a two-bedroom apartment in Bhuleshwar, Bombay. Born in Baltimore on July 29, 1951, Palmisano attended Calvert Hall in the same city for high school. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from no less than Johns Hopkins University.

Palmisano started his career with IBM. He then managed his way to become the vice president and senior vice president of the Personal Systems Group in 1997. By 1998, he was the senior vice president and group executive of IBM Global Services. Born in Cincinatti, Ohio on February 19, 1956, Jeffrey Immelt was raised in a household where General Electric already had a strong presence. His father was part of the General Electric Aircraft Engines Division and greatly influenced Immelt’s goals for the company.

During his school years, he was active in sports activities and already showed leadership skills. After earning his bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Dartmouth College, he entered Harvard University and in 1982 received his MBA.

Ever since Immelt joined GE in 1982, he has held various global positions, including significant roles for the Plastics, Appliance, and Medical divisions. He also served as an officer in 1989 and became a member of the GE Capital Board in 1997. A few years later, in 2000, he was chosen as the chief executive officer and president.

With Jeffrey Immelt at the helm of this multinational corporation, GE has earned several accolades, including being named “America’s Most Admired Company” by Fortune and one of “The World’s Most Respected Companies” by Barron’s and the Financial Times. He was born on the 24th of March in 1956 in Detroit, Michigan to a father who was an immigrant and Ford Motor Co worker, and to a mother who was Jewish-American. Born on October 24th 1966, Roman Abramovich belongs to a Jewish family who called Lithuania their home. He studied at the Industrial Institute in Ukhta prior to joining the Soviet Army. When he got back, he went on to study at the Moscow State Auto Transport Institute but did not finish the course.

Roman Abramovich started his business career by vending plastic ducks from his Moscow apartment. He took on other businesses but later focused on the buying and selling of oil. Together with partner Boris Berezovsky, he purchased a significant share of an oil company called Sibneft in 1995 for $100 million.

In 1999, Roman Abramovich went into charity work in the region of Chukotka. He focused his attention on supporting the youth and instituted the Pole of Hope organization in order to help the inhabitants of Chukotka.

Gerry Harvey was born on September 18, 1939 in Australia’s most populous state, New South Wales. Gerry Harvey entered the business world by selling fridges and vacuum cleaners. In the years that followed, Gerry Harvey worked hard until he became cofounder of Harvey Norman, a large retailer of entertainment, electrical, computer, furniture and bedding goods.
