Naina Lal Kidwai
Naina Lal Kidwai is one of the most prominent personalities in the modern corporate world. She is currently known as the Country Head and group general manager for HSBC India. But other than that, Naina Lal Kidwai is also known as the first woman in India to direct a foreign bank’s operations.
Naina Lal Kidwai was born in 1957 and was raised in the cities of Mumbai and Delhi. She has finished her early studies at Simla and at the Delhi University. Naina Lal Kidwai is also the first woman of Indian descent to have graduated from the Harvard Business School. Through her hard work and sincerity, Naina Lal Kidwai now stands as one of the top business women in India.
Naina Lal Kidwai’s career started off way back in 1982. During that year, she joined the Standard Chartered Bank which was known back then as the ANZ Grindlays Bank.
After taking on various banking assignments, she moved to work for the Morgan Stanley Indian operation. Naina Lal Kidwai was also a major player in Wipro’s NYSE listing. She was also recently assigned as the Managing Director of HSBC bank.
For all her efforts, the prestigious fortune magazine declared her as the 3rd most powerful businesswoman in Asia for 2000. Her commendable work had also led her to become the recipient of the Padmashri award.
However, aside from being a power woman, Naina Lal Kidwai, also manages to bring balance between her duties at home and at work. Aside from being an influential name in business, Naina Lal Kidwai also sets aside some of her time to fulfill her duties as a mother to her two children. She is also a nature lover who loves to spend some of her time trekking in the Himalayas.
