Roni Lynn Deutch

Roni Lynn Deutch, The Tax Lady and owner/operator of Roni Lynn Deutch, a Tax Corporation, was born in Southern California in a large family. As a child, she played baseball and softball, and has the singular distinction of being the first girl to play for an all-boys’ Little League team. Roni Deutch went on to play for a championship fast-pitch softball after high school, and continued playing softball for her school, the University of California Berkeley.

While at UC Berkeley, she earned a degree for Pre-Law and Ethnic Studies, and then finished her law degree at Western State University. It was at law school where Roni Deutch discovered her true calling off the baseball diamond—tax law and taxpayer advocacy. As she expanded her knowledge in the arcane world of tax codes and Federal tax law, Roni Deutch came to understand just how powerful the Internal Revenue Service really is. When someone is struggling under an IRS debt, their whole financial world can potentially collapse because of garnished wages and seized property. Roni Deutch wanted to help out these taxpayers.

Out of her small condo in Sacramento, Roni Deutch opened her first tax law office in 1993. She maxed out her credit cards and spent most of her money to air her first television commercial. Her first order of business was dealing with sloppy, poorly prepared tax returns of her clients. Roni Deutch understood that many problems with the IRS could be prevented by simply preparing tax returns in a neat and proscribed way. She then tackled tax debt issues, becoming a major advocate for taxpayers seeking tax relief in the form of reduced payments (“Offer in Compromise”) and monthly payments (“Installment Agreements”). Roni Deutch also reached out to people who were totally unable to pay their taxes by setting up the “Currently Not Collectible” status for them.

The success of Roni Lynn Deutch, A Professional Tax Corporation forced Roni to move her office from her small condo to larger office space. Over the years, Roni Deutch has built a cordial and professional relationship with the IRS, so her clients can be rest assured that they have a powerful partner on their side. Her company became the largest of its kind in the country, and Roni Deutch began franchising her business. As of 2008, the Roni Lynn Deutch, A Professional Tax Corporation has expanded into eight states. Roni Deutch has also hired on Spanish-speaking tax professionals to help the country’s growing Hispanic community.

Roni Lynn Deutch has appeared on numerous television programs, and has also published a bestseller business book, The Tax Lady’s Guide to Beating the IRS and Saving Big Bucks on Your Taxes. She also keeps a daily blog, chronicling tax issues as well as her hobbies–surfing and of course, baseball.
