Tom Gores is an American entrepreneur who is the founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Platinum Equity. Due to the large number of tactically-focused mergers, acquisitions, and operations organization that he has handled, the financier has a wide background of technological expertise, operational knowledge, and acquisitions experience.

Prior to creating Platinum Equity in 1995, Tom Gores had been a dynamic investor in startup operations and developed the idea of “managed entrepreneurship,” which was vital to his achievement in creating new value in all Platinum-owned companies.
